Montgomery Township with a population of approximately 22,000 plus residence
as of 2005, is at the southern most tip of Somerset County. It is surrounded by
Hillsborough on the north side, Franklin Township on the east, Princeton Township on
south side and Hopewell Township on the west side.
This is diverse community with rich history, blue ribbon schools and
a multitude of recreational opportunities. Montgomery Township is divided up into
three postal areas Belle Mead which is the northern and eastern part of Montgomery Township and Skillman which is on the southern and western part of the township. The portion of Montgomery closer to Princeton boarder has Princeton mailing address.
There are several hamlets within the Township: Belle Mead, Blawenburg, Dutchtown, Harlingen, Rocky Hill, Skillman and Zion. Rocky Hill, which was the first village in the Township, is now a separately incorporated borough, whose children attend Montgomery Township schools.

The Cherry Valley Country Club and is close to Princeton and Hopewell, Kings Crossing, and Pike Run which are more northern and closer to Hillsborough.
Children that live within the township attend Montgomery Township Blue Ribbon Schools, which are Village Elementary School, Orchard Hill Road School, Upper Middle School, Lower Middle School, and our new Montgomery High School.
The township is proud of the new recreational center which is the Otto Kaufman Recreational Center on Skillman Road, across from the new high school. |
